French-speaking Technical Salesperson

 

Job Role:                        Software Technical Support Engineer (French Team)

Salary:                            Competitive depending on experience

Hours of Work:              Full-time (37.5 hours a week)

Job Purpose

Working as a member of the French-speaking team to provide technical support and helping end-users of the CELCAT Timetabler software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gaining and maintaining a good working knowledge of CELCAT software products (both legacy and current offerings)
  • Maintaining and checking all customer documentation on CELCAT software products (wiki, guides, etc.) in collaboration with documentation and translation department.
  • Dealing with customer calls and emails related to installing, configuring and using CELCAT software
  • Collaborating with other members of the French team
  • Coordinating with members of the English-speaking technical support team 
  • Liaising with the development team to resolve software issues
  • Recording bug reports and validating fixes
  • Organising time and work to achieve a mandated service level

Skills (in order of importance)

Required:

  • Thorough grasp of Windows operating system and common office software systems
  • Installation and configuration of Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
  • French native speaker level
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Local Area Networking (including Internet Protocol Suite)
  • Knowledge of basic PC hardware
  • Good written skills and excellent phone manner in both French and English

Desirable:

  • Microsoft SQL Server, including database server scripting in Microsoft TransactSQL
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services
  • Relational database design (logical design of data structures and relationships)
  • Recognised Qualification in Information Technology
